The graf geeks over at FAT have announced this is GML week, Graffiti Mark Up language week that is. GML is a new XML file type specifically designed for archiving graffiti tags. Gestural graffiti motion data of a tag created in GML-supported software is saved as a text file with a “.GML” extension. Pretty nerdy stuff yeah? Well they are planning on releasing a load of software for people to download and use. Similar software as the stuff they used for their Eyewriter (which tracked a paralysed writer’s eyes and did laser projections of the outlines he sketched that way). Looking forward to seeing what software they come up with and if anyone else comes up with software for reading the data and using it in interesting ways or making animations from it.
