Interesting to see the prices of the stuff at the recent Urban Editions art auction, at Dreweatts London, sold for. Much less silly prices and most of it is around the guide price at best. Oddly the few things that did better than expected seem to be Mr Brainwash; seeing as the Banksy films coats him so much I’d have expected the opposite but he is busy proving there is no such thing as bad publicity (actually that is bollocks, ask Gary Glitter about bad publicity and if it helped his career). Also interesting to see D*Face and Shepard Fairey sold consistently under guide price. So has the street art bubble burst or is the economic downturn in action? Here’s the prices the items fetched. Big up to the mouseburger for linking it in the first place.
